PROGRAM CHANGE: Due to illness pianist Tor Espen Aspaas is unable to perform the Evening Recital on Sunday 25th August. Matyáš Novákwill perform the concert in his place.
Matyáš Novák (born 1998) started study the piano in the Czech Republic at the age of five. Since 2013 he is a student at the renowned piano academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Italy.
Matyáš is a winner of numerous piano competitions in Europe and the USA, including first prizes at the Internationaler Jenö Takács Klavierwettbewerb, at the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition and at the Concertino Praga Czech Radio Competition. In 2018 he came second and received the Steinway Prize at the International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition.
He gives solo recitals every year in European countries and USA and in 2015 and 2016 had appeared with successful concert tours in China.
In 2017 he recorded a critically acclaimed CD featuring Liszt’s works and debuted at Carnegie Hall. In 2019, he got the opportunity to perform a solo recital at the prestigious Prague Spring International Music Festival.
Matyas is a versatile artist, sought-after chamber player and accompanist and a proud member of PETROF Art Family.

Summer Evening Recitals
Summer Evening Recitals with some of Norways finest musicians will be played every Sunday at 18:00, from June 9 to September 8.
The concerts takes place in "Troldsalen" - maybe the most beautiful chamber music hall in the world. Duration: Approximately 1,5 hours, including a 15 minute break / intermission.
You will also meet the pianist during his/her stay as "pianist of the week" at Troldhaugen, in the daily lunchtime concerts at 13:00. More information on the lunchtime concerts here
