Join us as we travel through time, back to when Edvard Grieg was little!
Before becoming a great composer, the young Edvard was a sensitive child with a rich imagination. He liked to play, draw, write poems and compose music, and he cared little for the rules and strict demands made by adults. He grew up in a home filled with music, and he had fewer restrictions than many other children at the time. Listening to the music he composed as an adult, we can hear that he managed to preserve much of his rich imagination. We invite visitors of all ages to ‘visit’ Grieg’s childhood, not least through drawings from his sketchbook. The story brings to life some of the historical pictures on the walls of Troldhaugen villa. Listen to familiar and much-loved music, little-known works which he produced as a youth, and even a completely new composition inspired by Grieg. The event is suitable for both children and adults.
