10/6: Trondheimsolistene + Ragnhild Hemsing

Friday 10 June, at 19:00 in Troldsalen:

Welcome to a concert with Ragnhild Hemsing and Trondheimsolistene.

KODE is proud to invite to a concert in Troldsalen with Trondheimsolistene who bring with them Hardanger Fiddle virtuoso Ragnhild Hemsing. They will perform excerpts from Grieg's own Peer Gynt, but with a new approach through the use of a Hardanger Fiddle. They will also perform Serenade for Strings written by Grieg's friend and contemporary composer Tchaikovsky.

Trondheimsolistene is recognised for representing chamber music at the highest level. Passionate performances, innovation and innate musicianship are the watchwords and that is whether they are making critically acclaimed recordings, playing live from the Lofoten Islands to Berlin, or forging meaningful partnerships with musicians of all disciplines.

Ragnhild Hemsing stands out amongst the rising stars in Norway as a remarkably poised artist. Her unique upbringing, deeply immersed in the rich folk music traditions of Norway, enables her to be one of the first artists to successfully merge the instantly identifiable characteristics of Norwegian folk music and classical performance in a young, fresh and entirely contemporary fashion.
