CANCELLED: Lunchtime concert in Troldsalen with pianist Kei Solvang, Sunday 19 April at 13.00.

All concerts at Troldhaugen are cancelled as a consequence of the Coronavirus outbreak, until 14 April. More information available here.

We invite you to a lunchtime concert in Troldsalen chamber music hall, with a beautiful view to Edvard Grieg’s composer’s hut. Grieg’s famous lyric pieces as well as his arrangements of Norwegian folk songs will be on the repertory. Each pianist will present their own programs.

Pianist of the day

Kei Solvang (b. 2002)  is currently in her 2nd grade at the Department of Music, Langhaugen High-School, Bergen. From 2017 onwards she has been a member of The Young Talents Program at The Grieg Academy, University of Bergen, and the Talent program at Prof. Jiri Hlinka`s Piano Academy from 2018. From 2019 she was selected as a regular member of the National Fostering of Piano Talents.  

In the event of the 175th anniversary of the birth of Edvard Grieg (June 2018), Kei Solvang was selected to open the 30 hours of live TV broadcasting by performing Grieg`s “4 Piano Pieces - Opus 1”. The same year Solvang participated in the Norwegian National Music Championship for youth and was awarded the 1st prize at her age class in piano. Moreover, she was awarded the Inspiration Prize and the Audience Prize and received invitations to perform as a soloist at various concerts in Norway. In 2019 Solvang participated in international piano competitions on three occasions. She was awarded the 3rd prize at both the Nordic Junior Piano (Sweden) Competition and at the Windsor International Piano Competition.
