KODE's Composer Homes are delighted invite our audience to a concert lecture about Agathe Backer Grøndahl (1847-1907) with pianist Sara Aimée Smiseth.
Backer Grøndahl was a pianist and one of Norway's most prominent composers during the 17th century. She had a very productive career and was considered a performer of international qualities.
During her career she was rather productive and has written a large number of compositions. She was a good friend of Edvard Grieg who, among other things, dedicated one of his best-known opuses to her, namely Twelve Songs, op. 33. She did also on several occasions play Grieg's A minor concerto both in Norway and abroad.

Sara Aimée Smiseth, piano and talk (in Norwegian)
Sara Aimée Smiseth completed her master's degree as a pianist at the Norwegian Academy of Music in 2013 and has since toured with a concert lecture series in both Norway and abroad. The concerts stand out as a unique combination of high-level piano playing combined with oral dissemination, which gives the audience a unique encounter with the music. In addition to playing solo concerts, she is associated with the Norwegian Opera & Ballet as an educator and pianist.
