KODE Art Museums and Composer Homes invites you to a magical Christmas night in Edvard Grieg’s home at Troldhaugen. Three free digital concerts for you to enjoy – no matter where you are. A Christmas gift from us in Bergen to all of you.
About the program
Jazz pianist Tord Gustavsen gives us a concert where only the imagination sets the limits of our experience. There may be appearances by tones of psalms and Christmas songs in his musical web.
Tord Gustavsen is a jazz pianist and composer. He has released eight albums in his own name through the prestigious ECM Records. He tours all over the world with his trio and ensemble, and has received numerous awards, including the Norwegian Spellemannsprisen and the German Jahrespreis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritikk for best album regardless of genre.
Gustavsen has been a corner stone in projects with vocalists of strong character, such as Solveig Slettahjell, Mahsa Vahdat, Kristin Asbjørnsen og Silje Nergaard. His last album also introduced the Afghan-German vocalist Simin Tander to Norway, and was based on remarkable revisions of Norwegian psalms in the Afghan language Pashto.
