The norwegian pianist Joachim Carr studied with Jiri Hlinka in Oslo and Eldar Nebolsin in Berlin, and has in later years achieved international recognition as a versatile soloist and chamber musician. He won the 1. Prize, as well as the Audience Prize at the International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition in 2014. He has given performances at the Wigmore Hall, the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Berliner Philharmonie and Konzerthaus Berlin, and has been invited to the festivals in Bergen, Ruhr, Zermatt, Lofoten and Salzburg. Of his debut solo album, released on the Swiss label Claves and featuring early works by Schumann, Brahms and Berg, Diapason wrote: “these performances place him amongst the most promising pianists of his generation”.
