Grieg competition Audience program

We welcome you to the International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition in Bergen from 27 August. The Competition is open for the audience for the whole week. Free entrance to all concerts at Troldhaugen. 

Three preliminary rounds will take place at Troldhaugen on 27–31 August, and will be open for audiences free of charge. Participants who progress to the grand finale at Grieghallen on 3 September will perform as soloists with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. 

The entire competition will be streamed free of charge anywhere in the world. The audience may also vote for their favourite via SMS. The programme includes an exclusive concert at Håkonshallen with the Canadian pianist Bruce Liu, the winner of the international Chopin Competition held last year in Warsaw.

There will also be concerts by the competition participants in the greater Bergen area, a free drop-in concert in the University Aula in Bergen, a masterclass at the Grieg Academy, and an on-stage conversation with the pianist and professor Liv Glaser.
