Lunchtime Concerts: Mariam Kharatyan
Tuesday-Sunday at 11:30 and 13.00: Welcome to a lunchtime concert with pianist Mariam Kharatyan. Mariam Kharatyan is pianist of the week at Troldhaugen from Tuesday 10. august until Sunday 15. august.
The Armenian pianist Mariam Kharatyan performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, regularly invited in such festivals as the Edvard Grieg Festival in Münster, Germany, Kamar Art Music Festival in Yerevan, Armenia, in National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, USA, among others. She is a prize winner in several international piano competitions and has performed recitals and in concerts with orchestras in Sweden, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Belarus, and Lithuania.
In 2019 she has released two albums - Khachaturian, Chamber Music, and Komitas, Shoror with Simax Classics, linked to her artistic doctorate project “Armenian Fingerprints”. In 2018 she has performed Khachaturian’s piano concerto with Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra conducted by Eivind Gullberg Jensen in Kilden Theater and Concert Hall. Currently, Kharatyan is an Associate Professor in the Department for Classical Music and Music Education at the University of Agder.

Throughout the summer, Edvard Grieg Museum invites you to lunchtime concerts in Troldsalen chamber music hall, with a beautiful view to Edvard Grieg’s composer’s hut. Grieg’s famous lyric pieces as well as his arrangements of Norwegian folk songs will be on the repertory. Each pianist will present their own programs. Read more about the concerts
