Lunchtime Concerts: Joachim Carr

Tuesday-Sunday at 11:30 and 13.00: Welcome to lunchtime concerts with Joachim Carr, pianist of the week at Troldhaugen from 15-20 June.

The norwegian pianist Joachim Carr studied with Jiri Hlinka in Oslo and Eldar Nebolsin in Berlin, and has in later years achieved international recognition as a versatile soloist and chamber musician. He won the 1. Prize, as well as the Audience Prize at the Edvard Grieg Piano Competition in 2014. He has given performances at the Wigmore Hall, the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Berliner Philharmonie and Konzerthaus Berlin, and has been invited to the festivals in Bergen, Ruhr, Zermatt, Lofoten and Salzburg. Of his debut solo album, released on the Swiss label Claves and featuring early works by Schumann, Brahms and Berg, Diapason wrote: “these performances place him amongst the most promising pianists of his generation”.

Lunchtime concerts 
Throughout the summer, Edvard Grieg Museum invites you to lunchtime concerts in Troldsalen chamber music hall, with a beautiful view to Edvard Grieg’s composer’s hut. Grieg’s famous lyric pieces as well as his arrangements of Norwegian folk songs will be on the repertory. Each pianist will present their own programs. Read more about the concerts
