Lunchtime Concerts: Kei Solvang

Tuesday-Sunday at 11:30 and 13.00: Welcome to lunchtime concerts with Kei Solvang, pianist of the week at Troldhaugen from 15-19 June.

We invite you to a lunchtime concert in Troldsalen chamber music hall, with a beautiful view to Edvard Grieg’s composer’s hut. Grieg’s famous lyric pieces as well as his arrangements of Norwegian folk songs will be on the repertory. Each pianist will present their own programs.

Pianist of the week: Kei Solvang

Kei Solvang is studying the first year of her Bachelor degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with Prof. Jens Elvekjær as her main mentor. She has previously studied at the Grieg Academy's Young Talents Programme and in the Talent Programme by Prof. Jiri Hlinka Piano Academy.

In 2018, Solvang won her class in the Youth Music Championship, as well as the inspiration award and the audience award. In the same year, she had the honor of opening NRK's Grieg minute by minute. In 2019, she won a total of three international awards during the piano competitions in Sweden, Great Britain and Germany. In 2020, she qualified for the semifinals of NRK's music competition "Virtuos" and for the finals of the "Japan e-piano competition". In the summer of 2021, Kei received the "Sonderpreis" (Special Award) during the PIANALE in Germany .
