Tuesday-Sunday at 11:30 and 13.00: Welcome to lunchtime concerts with Lars Fredrik Nystad, pianist of the week at Troldhaugen from 26-31 July.

We invite you to a lunchtime concert in Troldsalen chamber music hall, with a beautiful view to Edvard Grieg’s composer’s hut. Grieg’s famous lyric pieces as well as his arrangements of Norwegian folk songs will be on the repertory. Each pianist will present their own programs.

Pianist of the week: Lars Fredrik Nystad

Lars Fredrik Nystad is a Norwegian pianist who during recent years has established himself among Norway's foremost young musicians.

In 2016 he was a recipient of the Levin Piano Prize, the highest honour for a norwegian pianist. He made his debut as a soloist in 2012 with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and in 2016 his solo debut at the famous University Hall in Oslo. In 2018 Nystad was recipient of the Grieg Prize at the 16th International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition.

Nystad has studied at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo, and in 2016 he completed the prestigious Soloist Diploma program at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
