Lunchtime concerts: Mariam Kharatyan
Tuesday-Sunday at 13.00: Welcome to a lunchtime concert with pianist Mariam Kharatyan, pianist of the week at Troldhaugen from Tuesday 4 August to Sunday 9 August.
Armenian pianist Mariam Kharatyan performs freequently in Norway and internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. She has her musical background as a classical pianist and completed her Master's degree at the Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan, Armenia. From 2012 she moved to Norway and completed the Master program of Western-European Music at the University of Agder, where she currently holds a possition as Assistant Professor.
Kharatya is a prize winner in several international piano competitions such as “Giovanni Musicisti” (1st Prize, 2013) in Treviso, Italy, Grieg International Piano Competition in Bergen (Semifinalist, 2016), and in the “Renaissance” International contest-festival in Gyumri, Armenia, in 2010.
Last year, she released two albums: Khachaturian, Chamber Music with Simax Classics, and Komitas, Shoror with Grappa Musikkforlag.
