Lunchtime concerts: Rune Alver
Tuesday-Sunday at 13.00: Welcome to a lunchtime concert with pianist Rune Alver.
Rune Alver is pianist of the week at Troldhaugen from Tuesday 7 July until Sunday 12 July.
Rune Alver is educated at Bergen Music Conservatory and the Norwegian State Academy of Music in Oslo where he received his Diploma in 1986. He has studied with the pianists Jan Henrik Kayser, Einar Steen-Nøkleberg and Vlado Perlemuter.
Since his debut as a pianist 20 years old Rune Alver has achived an extensive activity as a soloist and chamber musician. He performs all over Norway, in Sweden, Denmark, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, Ireland, USA, South-Africa and People's Republic of China.
Rune Alver frequently collaborates with outstanding musicians, actors and visual artists in traditional as well as experimental settings. He has recorded a number of solo CDs containing music by Chopin, Schumann, Grieg and recent Norwegian composers.
