To the Spring

To celebrate the arrival of the spring, we have in this concert programmed three different opuses from the two Romantic Norwegian composer friends, Edvard Grieg and Agathe Backer Grøndahl. To present these works, we have invited soprano, Eldrid Gorset and pianist, Olga Jørgensen.

The season's first concert at Troldhaugen is part of our spring concert series To the Spring. Spring is a season which for many composers and artists has been of great inspiration in their creational processes and several have dedicated works to the spring, just like Backer Grøndahl and Grieg.

In the concert we get to listen to one of Backer Grøndahl's most famous opuses, namely The Child's Spring Day op. 42 in addition to Grieg's Lyric Pieces III op. 43 and Four songs op. 21.
